Month 2

This last month has gone by really fast! Mommy can't believe that I'm already 2 months old! I have my 2 month Dr's appointment on Friday, and she's really nervous about me getting something called "shots." I have no idea what she's talking about, but I'll be sure to write you all and tell you how it goes.

Speaking of Drs appointments, I had quite a few this month! Mommy brought me in for my continued jaundice and extreme fussiness. The Dr. said the jaundice was caused by the breast milk I LOVE to drink, but that it should go away completely within the next month or so, and the fussiness is more than likely caused by colic. He ordered an ultrasound to make sure that the fussiness was not caused by an inguinal hernia, and it showed that while I have the opening that could cause a hernia, I don't actually have one (well, besides my umbilical one).

Despite my fussiness, I've started flashing some smiles at my mommy & daddy. At first, I'd smile at the walls and different inanimate objects just to freak them out, but lately, I've decided to look at them and smile. This definitely seems to make them really happy... I don't quite get it, but I enjoy seeing them get so excited over something so simple. It's especially funny when I smile at my mom in the middle of the night when she wakes up to take care of me. She looks like a zombie one minute, and then is so happy and awake after I give her my toothless grin. I wonder what else I can do to get them so worked up?

We had some more outings this last month. Mommy joined a "mom" group with some of the other moms in the neighborhood with children about my age. The first meeting was pretty fun, although, I was going through a growth spurt so all I really did was eat and sleep, but mom seemed to enjoy chatting it up with other adults. I went to my first birthday party for my friend Grayson, and had a lot of fun. After that party, I attended many others! My friends Mia, & twins Lucas & Elijah, and my parents' friend Derik also had parties this month. I slept like a rock after all of those get-togethers.

The biggest thing that happened this past month is my Grandpa Triebold came to visit! He was so much fun, and held me a lot. We went on walks together every morning with Luna, and he helped take care of me when mommy got sick one night. He blew raspberries on my belly, and bought me some cool new outfits to wear. They're still a little big, but I know I'll grow into them soon.

I also had my first skype conversations with my family back in the states. I talked to my Great-Grandpa & Nana Triebold, my Aunt Michelle & Teresa, and saw my Grandma Triebold again. I was crying during all those conversations, but I can't wait to see them again so I memorize their faces for when I meet them in person one day.

I've started sleeping in my crib at night instead of the bassinet in my parents' room. This allows them to sleep a little better as well, since my grunting from gas pains would keep them up, even though I would never really wake up fully from the grunts. I like it for the most part, but sometimes I miss being so close to them. Mom helps that out by wearing a Moby Wrap Aunt Debbie bought for me, which allows me to be really close to mommy throughout the day while she does whatever she needs to around the house. I usually fall asleep pretty quickly once she puts me in it.

That is about all that happened this month. I celebrated my first St. Patrick's day, but besides wearing green, we didn't do much else. I'm holding my head up more, and I love sitting outside and taking in all of nature. I can't wait to visit the beach sometime soon, and dip my feet into the ocean. There is so much that I am looking forward to, and I can't wait to share it all with you!

Until next time!

Lucas
