Month 1

What a month it has been!

I arrived a week and 1/2 early. The first few days worried mom & dad because I wasn't breathing well, so the Doctor decided I needed to stay in the nursery under the incubator, with an IV, heart monitor, antibiotics, and a buzz lightyear helmet (oxygen hood). All the tests they ran came back normal, so after a couple days of improvement, I was finally able to stay the night in the room with mom & dad, and then go home with them!

Grandma Triebold came to visit a few days later, and I had so much fun with her. She loved holding me, and made me an awesome quilt. Mom and Dad drove us around the island of Guam, Two Lover's Point, the Navy Base, and she even was able to come and meet one of my doctors at my 2 week check-up. I really miss her already, but we're hoping to go visit Navarre this upcoming Holiday Season depending on when Daddy gets home from his 3rd deployment.

After Grandma left, I became quite a fussy baby. The nights that I was sleeping for 4 hours in a row disappeared, and mommy and daddy stayed up trying to calm me down and get me back to sleep. I'm really gassy, but they bought some gas drops and mom does some massages with me after every meal to help move any bubbles out. They get quite a kick out of the noises I make... even Luna gets confused when I toot!

Luna is such a great big sister to me. Every time we get home from an outing, she has to check to make sure that I am still with mom and dad. She likes to lay down next to me when I'm doing tummy time and always comes into the nursery during diaper changes and feedings. I can already tell we're going to be the best of friends.

I've also met a lot of my Guam family this month. So many people bring my mom and dad dinners, and they all talk about how cute I am. I feel so loved! I even met some of their babies. I know I'll make friends with them once I get a little older.

I'm starting to become more aware of my surroundings, so I am sure I'll have more to update you on next month! I'll write again soon!

Until next time!
